DOOM! Doom be upon our nation!

After hearing that incessantly from so many alarmists, I only want to quote the simple-minded robot Gir from the “Invader Zim“ cartoon series.

 

“I like doom!“

Since the coronation of the Obamessiah, I’ve heard so many conservatives bewailing the fate of the nation. They go on and on about how Obama is going to take away our guns, about how he’s secretly a Muslim, about how he might be the Antichrist, etc. The sadly ironic thing is that the most paranoid alarmists I’ve encountered have been Christians. Why are they so afraid? Doesn’t t the Bible say a few things about trusting in God and being strong and courageous no matter the circumstances?
Let me ask the alarmists this: are you saying that the same America that has endured all manner of political strife for the past 232 years, brought down Nazism and Communism, and still is the most prosperous and wealthy country in the world, will be obilitherated by one talking head and his toadies? Are you saying that God took a nap this past Election Day, and now we’re in for Armageddon?
I rest my case.

Thanks For Nothing, Senator McCain.

I can only pray that next time his Senate seat is up for grabs that he’ll be put out to pasture where he belongs. I’d rather have another liberal Democrat in the Senate than him.

I totally meant to post this earlier today, but I’m glad I managed to get this done while it was still technically Pearl Harbor Day.

Good anarcho-capitalist that I am, I utter despise FDR’s domestic policies (and really there’s lots about his foreign policies I’m not too crazy about either) but I must admit that this speech still moves me every time I hear it.

Check out this link, which details the story of a small group of Marines in Afghanistan who totally routed an attacking insurgent force. It reminded me a bit of this story from Iraq a few years back. 

It really makes me sad that even though America is still producing military heroes in the tradition of Francis Marion, Joshua Chamberlain, Alvin York and Audie Murphy, we only hear about them from alternative news sources, never the mainstream media.

Man, oh man. Has it really been that long since I’ve posted? I’m so ashamed. :-(

It’s quite sad. I’m feeling like I have little to say as of late. Not to mention, ever since the election, I’ve been feeling more jaded than ever about politics. Still, the show must go on. Regular posting will resume today.

My friends at Bob Jones U, are you bummed that you can’t celebrate Halloween? Fear not! For there is something monumental that you may observe this October 31st!

Reformation Day!

So dress up in your hooded robe (if you don’t have one, a sheet will do), and tape the 95 Theses on the Power and Efficacy of Indulgences onto as many dorm room doors as you can. Remember to sing “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” as you do so! :-D  

When I was in the dorms, my friends and I had a blast with this.
